Hey folks. I was curious if the Fluids geometry and space in the frame allowed for a shock with more travel than the 120mm? Anyone tried?

I fitted a 190x50 DVO topaz in stead of the standard 190x45. Bumps up the travel from 120mm to about 134mm. There is some info on vitalMTB forums/bike of the day.

Shock installation was upside down as the beafy linkage has little clearance for the shock’s air canister.

Regardless of overstroking, I found that the alignment of the rear triangle on my XL Fluid FS is so bad that the top bushings started eating my shock. Overstroking might have exacerbated the effects of a badly aligned frame.

Thanks. I've decide to keep factory travel on this bike. I have a Knolly Chilcotin 167 coming my way now to use on more gnarly stuff Smile
