Hi all, I found some pictures of possible 2023 models of the rift zone.

Noticable is that the RZ1 has X-Fusion only suspension and RZ2 has the Z2 Bomber and Rockshox Deluxe shock.

Anyone has more info, especially about the RZ3?
Wonder what the colour they will be and what changes with that fork/shock setup will look like as the Z2 moved to the lower speced 2 now?

If the Z2 comes on the RZ2 that’s pretty good. IMO one of, if not the best mid priced $500 fork out. Wonder what the RZ3 will bring to the table then. I gotta see it in person but I think the new cable routing might be better. One thing I don’t like about the routing on my 22’ RZ3 is that because the shifter cable drops down by the BB, it gets caught up on the MRP carbon bash guard I have. I had to file a bit of the edges on the plastic guard so the shifter cable would rub against it more smoothly when the suspension compresses.

Interested in trying one of these new ones with a Angle set, maybe knock off 1deg.

Or you could just get an Alpine Trail?

the Alpine trail is like 63.5? so the rift zone would only end up around 64.5.

I'd assume that part of trying to slacken the HA is to make it a more capable bike, which in turn tells me you are looking to ride it beyond what a trail bike may normally be expected to work well in. Having had 2 Alpine Trails myself over the past 4 years I'd say it's a really good trail bike and a So So enduro bike. It pedals much better than its 150mm of rear travel would suggest, even with a coil shock.

yep, thanks, i have had a Alpine Trail Carbon, with the fox 38 build.

I was wanting anther short travel ripper that can Also go down the steep stuff, Ie not needing that much travel either.

I have a few bikes for the big stuff.

Rifty be good for that. Especially with the improvements like cable routing, UDH, etc.

Exactly haha the angle set would be to just give it that extra little bit more confidence down steeper stuff to kinda make it a good all round ripper.

Never owned a carbon full squish....my RF is aluminun and havent had any issues. How are the Marin carbon builds? Any issues, pre-mature cracks, etc on em?

There really are not a lot of carbon Marins out there. I have personally had 2, an Attack Trail (wish they'd brinbg that back) and my current Alpine Trail carbon. Their rear ends are aluminum on the carbon bikes, which is smart. The benefits of a carbon rear are outweighed by the negativesa of increased cost.

They make a road bike in carbon also and the quality is quite good. I'd have no problem selling any of our customers a carbon frame Marin. That said, the new geo for 2023 is only on the alloy RZ frames. The numbers on the carbon bikes were a bit better than the alloy frames already so I suspect they didn't see a need to make changes yet.

I'll make a shameless announcement here also: We have 2 2022 Rift Zone XR in XL in stock. They are Shimano XT builds with a Fox 36 fork and coil shock. Fantastic DownCountry bikes at a great price.

wait til you see the new ones for '24 ! I'm hearing of an AXS Transmission build, UDH (finally), better dropper routing, and a lighter carbon frame.
