SB130 or Lunch Ride Still a good bike for 2023?

I’ve been riding the current generation Stumpjumper (non-Evo) for the past couple of seasons. It is a great all around trail bike and has served me well.

I blindly sold the frame recently (wanting slightly more travel) and now am not sure what to replace it with.

I tried the Scor 4060ST ( had kind of a weird fit I thought)

I tried a Stumpy Evo it’s super plush and May be too much bike for my needs

I tried a Rocky Mountain Instinct and thought it was comfortable but more upright than my Stumpjumper.

I see Backcountry has the SB130 Turq frame set on sale and was wondering if in 2023 it’s still a solid bike? Being it’s brand new I’m not convinced about quality or warranty issues.

My thought was to get it, build it (I have a full AXS kit, carbon wheels blah, blah and lunch ride it with a longer stroke rear shock.

Anyone switch from current Stumpjumper to a 130 or 130LR?

Thanks!

The geometry didn't change much when they came out with the SB140 compared to the outgoing SB130.
New bike has SRAM UDH and a threaded bottom bracket and some other minor improvements, but it's not like the 130 is an outdated design.

I've had 3 SJ Evo's and 2 SJ's, as well many hours on a SB130 LR that I built up for my dad. Bikes could not be more different. The SB130 requires you to weight the front end more, switch infinity does not sit into its travel. I sold my Evo's due to their plushness, even after maxing out volume spacers, those bikes just were hard to get active. I don't understand how they get so much praise.

Anyways, the SB130 LR is a fantastic bike, you need to work it a little more to get the most out of it, but boy are the tremendously fast everywhere.

I've had an SB130LR, SB140LR and Ripmo and the SB130LR is still an EXCELLENT bike. You'll have zero regrets. It does not have an UDH hanger, so no compatibility with the new SRAM Transmission, but other than that, it's a brilliant bike.

Not so fast. 5DEV has made an adapter to convert non-UDH 2018-2022 Yeti's to UDH/Transmission

5Dev has discontinued their
Yeti 2018 - 2022 Mod Kit for some reason, if anyone knows of another adapter kit, please inform

I wonder if SRAM sent them a letter...
