Hello,

Been riding road for years and want a fun bike to learn some tricks and have fun with my kid. I'm 43, I expect a steep learning curve.
I'm building around an Octane Void and need some advice. This post about tires, but I may post more questions along the build
What 26 tires for 90 street, 10 pump track? No too heavy would be good.
Are inserts a good idea at the rear?

Thank you!

@Nvxljxxu, I know Schwalbe still does 26" tyres. Possibly something in the cargo bike tire range would be a good fit, as they're designed to put up with more forces due to being designed for higher load capacities and urban environment that cause tyre damage.

I'm a big fan of the Maxxis DTH in 26x2.3" width. Very light and fast rolling. They offer it in a heavy-duty EXO casing if you're tearing up tires, but I find that the single ply version is very reliable when run with tubes filled with a bit of sealant. (I like Orange Seal Endurance for this application...)

depending on how heavy the street riding is, have a look for 26" BMX tyres some BMX companies make they're tyres in 26" an they'll be stronger.. otherwise yeah Maxxis DTH is the go to.

Pretty any 26” non aggressive tire will be good for that use case.

If you’re gonna be cruising around a bunch I’d consider a Maxxis Holy Roller just for durability. They work great in the dirt too. But they’re heavy.

Maxxis DTH is awesome but the slick can be sketchier in dirt if you’re not confident. Many people run Ikon front DTH rear.

Schwalbe Billy bonkers or crazy bobs are great.

Kenda K rads are knock off holy rollers.

Vee tire makes good options.

Easton has a rebranded vee tire that’s cheap and looks good.

Get whatever tires are on sale, they’ll all be fine.

sen the Primo wall is in 26"
doesn't get more streezeet than a primo wall

and as for inserts, completely not needed for the PSI you'd be running for street an P'track

Tioga FS100 I run them on dirt and love them….but they’re also great on asphalt PumpTracks.

Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions and sorry for not replying, I was not notified.
It's maybe stupid but I always try to have (very) light bikes. For this one, it's a bit different but Billy Bonkers look quite light and may be good. Are they ok for a bit of dirt?

Bonkers are great on hardpack dirt.

Alright thanks, I'll go for it.
Thank you all for your help!
