Was considering picking one of these up on closeout if I can negotiate a suitable discount. Looks like 1 and 3 are the spec levels still out there in the US. Anyone have any experience with the live valve that comes on the 1 spec? The owner of my local LBS was talking about how cool the new XC flight attendent on his specialized XC bikes is, and I'm wondering if the fox version on these giant xc bikes is very beneficial and whether it's worth the extra money over the rockshox suspension that comes on the level 3 spec.
Live Valve uses a host of various, little sensors, lots more wires, a battery pack, electronic tuning via an app, etc. No thanks. That's way too much bother. The only reason to consider using it is if I had to shave the milliseconds by not having to use cable actuated lockouts in order to possibly beat another guy to the podium. This is the sort of thing elite XC racers would use and they have professional mechanics taking care of all the fiddly things for them. Even then, you don't see all the World Cup XC racers using it.

I had Live Valve on a Scott Spark in 2019. Best predictive suspension I ever rode. It was better than Specialized Brain and I had every version of Brain.
Sure. The new Flight Attendant (FA) claims to be better but I haven't ridden Flight Attendant. I would be VERY surprised if Flight Attendant is better than Fox Live Valve.
The thing I don't like about FA is the cost and those silly batteries hanging off the shocks. Looks heavy but LiveValve adds weight too.
I'm considering a 2022 Giant Anthem 29 1 for myself with Live Valve.
The problem is this: I can make the front a 120mm travel fork with a cheap shaft on the air-spring side. Maybe it's this part 820-02-401-KIT ?? If someone knows, please respond. Maybe 820-02-526-KIT
The bigger problem is the rear shock. It needs at least 110mm of travel. The trunnion shock is 165 long with 45mm stroke. I need to increase that stroke but if the chain-stay bridge hits the seat tube, no bueno.
Has anyone tried making more travel on a 2022+ Giant Anthem? I know lots of people have made the 2021+ Epic Evo go from 110mm to 122mm by changing the shock from 190-40 to 190-45.
