I got a v3 Ripmo just before Thanksgiving, and I've def been digging it. 160mm's of travel is a wee excessive for my local area in central NC, but still pedals fine so whatev's; but then was spot on for zones in WNC when we went there to visit fam for a week.
My plan is to shorten the fork and rear shock, to convert it to an husky-shocked Ripley; which I could see being a pretty solid contender for everything short of park days.

Not wholly wrong, but it's great fun at the techier stuff ( San Lee, New Light ) at least for me and at my "mile-age" i'll take the extra fun and capability.

It's trails like New Light, and Briar Chapel, that have me pausing my conversion plan, and just keeping it a Ripmo for now.

Built a Ripley V5 last week. Notable highlight of the build: new Fox 36 SL. Seems to match the rear suspension quite well. This bike is super capable and fast both uphill and downhill. As a gravity-oriented rider who usually rides long travel bikes, I find that I can push this super hard, and I only have found the limit in this most chunky/rough rock garden type terrain. This bike is awesome.
