Hello all I am trying to get some new tires and I don't know if I should get the Vittoria Mezcal XC's or the Maxxis Aspens. I want them to be very durable but also roll pretty fast. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I’m curious why these are the two tires you are between? They’re a different type of tire - aspen is fast rolling xc and mezcal is alll around xc. Their equivalent tire from vittoria to the aspen is the peyote.

I’d go for the mezcal in the “xc trail” casing if you truly want a durable tire though. Maxis aspen is a low profile tread xc race tire. Vittoria Mezcal is one of the most popular tires for the tour divide MTB race from Canada to Mexico.

Another vote for the mezcal.

Both are solid choices, but if you’re looking for durability and speed, the Vittoria Mezcal XC is a great all-rounder...fast rolling with good tread life. Maxxis Aspens are super fast and light, but they tend to wear a bit quicker and aren’t quite as tough. If you’re riding mixed terrain and want something that lasts, I’d lean toward the Mezcals.
