2025 Val di Sole XC World Cup XCC Short Track Results & Highlights
Specialized must be creaming themselves - Big S factory team might as well print their logos on the 1-2 spots for the podiums this season. Unreal

Spotted: New SRAM T-Type Drivetrain Components - 2025 Leogang World Cup
@aphollis: sram cassettes and cranks are way lighter. I believe shimano derailleurs are still less heavy though.

Yes sram personally made Donald Trump president. What do we do instead? Buy Shimano parts that are built with slave labor? And have a 70% chance of being recalled? Or are we going a full TRP drivetrain and hoping we don’t ever need spare parts fast 🤔 There’s no perfect brand out there lol.

Hopefully less lol. Looks to be more of a new xx and less of an xx sl replacment. XX sl I’ve heard so many horror stories of breaking cages and bending teeth on cassettes. Seems the XX SL chainring/powermeter/crank arms and chains are totally usable day to day but the cassette and derailleur cage they went a bit too far.

Sounds like a setup issue? I have a stumpy with gx t type which has a worse clutch and it’s fairly quiet. Still shimano is probably better - sram t type derailleurs are HEAVY - lots of mass to stop from swinging around. VERY sensitive to proper setup though. You have to have perfect B tension or is shifts like ass. And every time you loosen the rear axle you need to partially re-allign the derailleur for b tension which is annoying.

Bike Check: Chris Blevins' Specialized Epic 8
760mm is the absolute widest you tend to see in XC. Most XC bars are either 780 or 760 uncut. Nothing "xc" comes in 800mm wide like trail bikes. Racing at a high level even 740mm is considered super wide. Personally at 6'3 I race 740mm and get told on the regular they are too wide lol. For reference I generally finish mid-pack in local races for the Pro/Open field or top 10 age-grouper for major races. Most competitive racers from my experience rare ight around 680-720 depending on size and preference. Maybe if I also ran 720 I'd be a hair less mediocre lol.

DJI Avinox Motor Updated to 1000 W Unlimited Power [UPDATED]
Lazy bros just want access to our hard built trail networks. Surrons/Real dirt bikes have to go really far out of towns to have a shot to find good trail networks. Now instead they can ride their little 1.3hp Chinese e-bike in our hard-built trails (I almost never see any of these e-bikers at our dig-days with the exception of some folks who started with analog bikes but also own an e-bike to self-shuttle)

@cohuttacat: that’s how pro teams with sponsors work lol. The dentist weight weenie builds are almost always “better” than what the pros can ride. World Cup XCO bikes are almost entirely straight rockshox/sram or Fox/Shimano. You won’t be seeing bikes built with trick stuff brakes and an xx1 drivetrain that uses an xtr chain and cassette lol.

Very common for pro riders on both road and xc to size down so they can get a more aggressive fit (lower stack and a huge stem). Doesn't mean you should do the same if you aren’t looking for an extremely racer-boy fit :)

Rosa Marie Jensen Joins the Specialized Gravity Team for 2025
Their JR. team is full of women... On the men's side almost all the riders started on a specialized jr team before moving to the mens, not traded from another adult WC team. Just takes time for riders to come up thru the ranks.
