The 'slim' doesn't have a spacer so it fits on certain HG hubs? Also, it appears that this model is only used on complete bikes - can't buy it retail.
From the product page:
Remove the spacer to fit “slim” 7-speed DH specific HG hubs. Some variations of this product featured on this page are not available for purchase and are installed on bicycles as complete bikes only. See your dealer for details.
The difference is basically weight and finish, the PG-720 A2 (“Slim”) is a slightly lighter, slightly sleeker version of the same cassette compared to the A1. They shift and function the same, just the A2 shaves a tiny bit of metal/weight and usually has a bit cleaner look. Performance isn’t noticeably different.
i'm considering of buying 7sp transmission, and so .. - sram it is. but which one?
btw, whats the diffetence between pg-720 and xg-795 x01 ? hg vs xd, 11-25 vs 11-11-24, 224gr vs 134gr. anything really important more ?..
Price is something to consider - the XG-795 is a really expensive, machined steel block of gears with the whole X DOME thing that supposed to be an integrated spoke protector. Here's a good review of the drivetrain - the cassette is shown and discussed. LINK

anything else except the price? even if there's a tiny little (but useful) difference, what is it?
