Anyone still running 27.5 in 2026?

are people still sticking with 27.5 these days or has everyone fully moved to mullet/29?

I still like how playful 27.5 feels on tight trails, but it seems like most new bikes are going bigger wheels now. Curious what people here are riding and why. ‍♂️

Not everyone moved on, but yeah 29 and mullet definitely dominate now.

Full 27.5 bikes are way less common, but some riders still stick with them because they’re more playful, easier to flick around, and accelerate quicker than 29ers.

Im one of the few still on full 275...a Pivot Shadowcat. It always puts a smile on my face!

Forks are getting hard to come by for 27.5 nowadays. Ugh...I may have to stock up.

Haha fair enough Hard to argue with that setup. Do you notice a big difference when switching between the two?

Yeah that’s what I’ve been noticing too. 29 and mullet seem to be everywhere now, but 27.5 still looks fun for tighter trails and quick direction changes.

Still see plenty of 27.5 riders out there, especially on shorter travel trail bikes and enduro sleds where that playful, snappy feel really shines on tight and technical terrain.

I have a 29er Norco Torrent that I’m really happy with and a 27.5 Giant Trance that I still love.

I put a -2 deg angleset on the Trance and I don’t think I’ll be getting rid of it anytime soon, I still ride it a ton and I still consider it my main bike although I swap frequently.

As far as rollover goes between the two bikes I honestly don’t notice a huge difference. Most likely bc they both have the same HTA (64 vs 64.3 on the Trance)

That's a really interesting real-world comparison. The HTA point makes total sense, when the head angles are nearly identical the rollover difference between 27.5 and 29 becomes way less dramatic than the internet debates suggest.

Thanks! Most of the comparisons on internet comments are comparing an older geo 27.5 vs newer geo 29er.

I'm on 29 or mullet now, but maybe my favorite bike of all time was my HD4. Definitely agree on the fun factor of 27.5, and considering I ride strictly for fun I cannot really say why/how I justify my current choices haha. I do very much enjoy the effortless ease of climbing up tech on the 29ers so there's that.
