Don't listen to all the cheap IH horse haters. Cheaper Ironhorses are decently specced for the cash compared to most other bikes in their range and the frames can take alot of abuse. They tend to be a bit on the heavy side though.
I'd take the low end Sachem over the lower end Warriors, and the Warriors over the Mavericks. As you go up in the levels, the parts get a bit better (fork, brakes, cranks etc.) You might be able to find the 07 base model Sachem for sale more in your price range now that it's 08. The 3.0 warrior isn't to bad for the price though.
Have you taken a look at specialized and kona's lower end bikes as well?
Basically you get what you pay for so buy the most expensive bike you can its worth it i ride an 07 maverick with upgrades and its been a great all around bike for me i've raced 4x and DS and ride DH trails all the time. Just make sure you get a dualy!
I just bought a Iron Horse Warrior 4.0 (all mountain) 2009 at rscycle.com since ive just started mountain biking this year beside its cheaper but im looking to buy next year a better bike setup as for now its the cheapone just to get a feeling for it and knowledge for MTB
what type of headset do i need for this frame headtube? im replacing it the stock headset to a much nicer ones.ive asked the CS at RScycle about the size they said Internal/Zero Stack 1-1/8 thats the only help i could get dont know the size ive googled everywhere ended up here askin for u guys help point me out to the links to where i can buy a headset for this bike..Thank You
you want 1-1/8" as the guys said, any headset in that size will do it. And where are you from? If you live in the UK then buy it from chainreactioncycles.com If you're from elsewhere though i'm afraid i can't help you
