Henry's Waffle House: All-Mountain Bikes Are Back, and They're More Pointless Than Ever
@jimicarl:
Oh man, don't even get me started on the ebikers shuttling the local trails here in their pavement princess pickup trucks.
Most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

1 dayBanshee Phantom v3.2
$5500 CADFor sale is my Banshee Phantom V3.2 build - built as a fun and nimble 'downcountry' bike, this bike does exactly what I wanted it to - gets to the top f-in quickly and shreds on the way back down. If you're looking for a bike for BCBR that's efficient but fun and not a full-on XC rig, this is it. I really like this bike and don't really want to sell it, but I don't ride it as much as I should, so it's up for sale, for the right price only. This bike was built in around August 2023 and has less than 300km on it. It's practically brand new, and about as high spec as you could want it to be.
Travel is 115mm rear, 130mm front and weighs around 30lbs, but despite the weight climbs incredibly thanks to the efficient KS2 linkage. It's also super progressive, meaning you can push it hard on the way back down. I've ridden this bike on most double black sanctioned trails on the Shore and it performs great, you'll just be a little slower than your enduro bike.
Spec:
Fork: Fox Factory 34 130mm FIT4
Shock: Fox Factory DPS
Wheels: Reserve 30 HD on I9 1/1 hubs, almost new Conti Kryptotal F/R enduro tires or Vitoria agarro
Drivetrain: all SRAM X01 apart from cassette which is GX
Cranks: Race Face Era carbon with 32t chainring
Brakes: Sram G2 RSC with 200/180mm rotors
Stem: NSB
Handlebars: SQLab 30X carbon Or race face atlas
Dropper post: PNW Loam w/OneUp V3 remote (not pictured)
Price is OBO. No low balls

As a fellow opinionated Brit, I do enjoy your ramblings. Even if I don’t necessarily agree.

@HciNGPDo: surely the goal is to avoid an accident entirely. You’re much less likely to do that in a truck

@HciNGPDo:
You realise that trucks are much more dangerous than a regular car in the event that you have to avoid something since they're so much easier to roll? The idea that trucks are safer is a complete fallacy and there's a ton of data to back that up.

@vinay:
Probably closer to the frivolity and unnecessariness of a Range Rover combined with the ubiquity of a VW Transporter.
