The only part that really go loose last year was the off camber section so I would go with something with lots of outside knob to it.

my kenda nevergals seemed to work fine. its not really all that sandy but there also some marshy sections so idk really.

The race course is all new so you can't judge from last years race course. The new trail has ALOT more loose off camber stuff this year. I'd be riding a tire with a tall sharp side knob.
