But looking around there aren't many easily attainable options for the kinda price range I was working with. Mtx's are heavy, rhino lites are finicky, dart more shit is next to impossible to get(only weird f*ckin colours on 26bikes) mavics are above my price threshold /rim, as are the todestriebs. Can't find 36h halo's or velocitys anywhere. All in all f*ck Canada sometimes. Ended up settling for mtx 33's any way.

Kinda both. Looks bad when I'm riding stuff that the shop can't get. Plus I'm a bike mechanic I can't afford to pay retail Ahhah lol
I think that's mostly your problem, cause the rest of us don't have this much trouble finding 36h lol
it's a major diplomatic problem, I have the same issue. I had my heart set on a gambler, but we carry spec ed, intense, and giant.

Yup. Only options are the mtx33. Cheaper through work any way.

I'm running mtx33 in 36h. Theyrre strong and only weigh in at 590G I think. Check Lambert or ltp.

The MTX33 weighs 660G.

Oh yes. I recently built a rear wheel with an MTX31 and its about as strong, little lighter too. I really like the MTX series.

MTX series is my go-to for when big fat dudes bring their sub $500 commuter bike in to my shop after they've demolished the stock rear wheel and broken all the spokes. they're relatively cheap and strong like bull

The lightest decent 36 hole rim I could fine through Lambert and Ltp was alex supra 28. I've been runing it on the rear for two years and its still perfectly straight

I made a carbon top cap to test out the feasibility of using 3D printed moulds, it worked and I know the reasons for all of the problems/imperfections so it will only get better from here.
