i haven't used the specific bike bag, but i have a number of other dakine bags and all of them are well built and look sweet.

i personally have the Heli Pro snowboard/ ski bag. i just use it for biking. and its good, pouches for everything needed. very well designed and comfy to wear, i would suggest getting one or one like it.

I have the bike bag and it rocked. I used it for the first time today and it worked exactly like it should. The only complaint I have it there is not enough padding for the fork but my buddies and I just use our 888 fork bag to save the fork from getting mangled. great buy for anyone that flies even if it is only every now and then.

For example, you can easily fit your bike in it with a minimal amount of disassembly along with any extras such as tools and race gear. However, airlines will charge you if you are overweight. Since it is easy to pack a lot in the case and still have tons of room left over, it is very easy to over pack this case and you will be dinged when you check-in. Dakine has carved out a pretty large niche for themselves in the mountainbike realm. Their stuff is top notch, durable, and priced right. I think Tyler may have even done a review for the main page so you might want to do a search for it. He definitely recommended one to me but I prefer a plastic/hard shell case. They are noticeably heavier but the protection can’t be beat. When I am bringing my $7000+ DH bikes, I want something that is bulletproof and can withstand everything the baggage handlers can throw at it. Therefore, the Serfa travel case gets my vote. It also has a substantial amount of foam padding so I am pretty worry free when I travel. Also, disassembly isn’t too bad either.

its not actually light...its actually very heavy and much heavier than stated in the Da Kine catalogue - we weighed it in at 12kg (!!)

I have one at home, and on my last trip flying to Vancouver from London, had to remove my seat/post, DHX coil shock, pedals, seatclamp and disc rotors to get just my bike (Banshee Chap with totems), some foam packing and the Da Kine bike bag under the 32KG weight limit

I was also surprised to have to remove my Totems from the bike, as the bag wasn't tall enough...

this means you can't fill it with helmet, body armour, spare tires, etc. unless your bike is way lighter... (my bike was about 43lb - 20kg)

great bag, but way heavy...
