Hey,
I have a tall suburban so a roof rack won't work and stowing them amongst gear inside can become tedious. I already have one of these...

...but it doesn't fit my bighit or my demo
And I'm looking into one of these:

Do these work well with downhill bikes? Please tell me if you have any experience with these systems.

Yes. I don't have that exact one, but I built one and they are the best racks ever. Any bike fits super quick. I actually thought I had a great idea until I saw they were already made...

The only issue is they're really long

I have a Thule T2 rack and it is great. It holds the bikes really well, and holds every bike I have ever put on it. There is a groove thing for the front wheel and an arm that comes down and holds the front wheel and the back wheel straps in. It takes about 30 seconds to put the bike on and the rack goes up for when you aren't using it. They have it on their website, you can get the one that holds two bikes, and if you want you can buy the two bike extension so it will hold up to 4 bikes. Clicky Clicky that is the rack, and Here is the two bike add on.

Its built very beefy too, so it will hold up to abuse. It is built alot stronger than the other one posted.
