and use my brothers
Canon 5D MKii, various lenses.

I'm interested in doing time lapses so thats the only reason I want one because some have built in intervalometers. Still got my eye on some lenses though, 50mm 1.8 and a 75-300mm is on the list Smile

Yeah I used to do time lapses with my rebel xs. If you're doing stuff more than 6-8 hours than maybe you'd need more batteries. Good choice on the 50 1.8, but don't get a 75-300, it's known as being the softest canon lenses out there.

are you talking about like the overall durability of the 70-300 or the image quality? I was thinking about the 70-300 for filming so if its the image quality it shouldn't affect it too much should it?

70-300 is not that great. If you can swing it, get the 70-200 f/2.8. You can find them used but I think it's one of Canon's best lenses.
