Cannondale to Shut Down Factory Race Program After 2026 Season
Sounds like an attempt to push more of the cost away from the brand and put less into all these new hands.

Specialized Is Trying to Make E-Bike Overlanding a Thing
What happens when you get to the cabin and it's full? What matters then? Or when all the berries are picked and there are none left for the real residents? If you wanna talk "overlanding", then it's two track, no single track in the backcountry. Should you ride your bike on an epic camping trip? Absolutely. But how Specialized have chosen to market it? I'm with Kaz, it's queasy.

Could This Flipped Drivetrain Solution Be The Future of Mountain Biking?
Looks expensive and difficult to maintain. Clever, but is something like that necessary?

Why I’m Not Panicking About 1,500W E-Bikes (Yet)
I was gonna say that "don't be a jerk" is an apropos description because I can see Karen complaining "they were going so fast" to the ranger or some board member. Or someone reading PB and realizing 1500w motors are on bikes and just deciding they don't have the manpower to check every ebike to see it meets requirements of Class 1 and just banning them.

Industry Veteran Hans Rey Calls for Clearer E-Bike Definitions in Open Letter to the Bicycle Industry
@HansReyNoWay: So where was the industry back when legislation was being considered? My first ride on a modified Santa Cruz was a long time ago and I have participated in surveys and advocated for adoption in public parks already open to bicycles so I've been part of the conversation for some time. California and many other states have decided on the three class model of bicycle (also adopted in other parts of the world) and they have established that electrics that do not fit within these classes are Off Highway Vehicles to be used on private land or OHV parks (with appropriate licensing) only. So I'll argue again that the answer isn't more legislation, it's making what is in place work better.

You need to fix your "detection". We have legislation, we don't need more. Modify existing.

There's a pretty good definition for California that exists today. It's VC 312.5. Hans should know that and maybe that's what should be argued for? https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=312.5.&lawCode=VEH#:~:text=(a)%20An%20%E2%80%9Celectric%20bicycle,and%20equipped%20with%20a%20speedometer. In fact, most states have already adopted the three tier classification. Not all. There are variations on power output with 750w being about average though some are as low as 500w and others "up to 1000w".

Life Time Bans Drop Bars from the Leadville Trail 100 & Little Sugar MTB Races
If the ban is truly for rider safety (ie; drop bars are not safe), then why weren't they banned in road racing long ago? Seems like it'd have been easier to just add a gravel class and been done.

Rider Sues Specialized, Claims Turbo Levo Motor ‘Defect’ Caused Him to Crash
As described, the problem reminds me of early ABS in motorcycles. Sometimes, you'd go over a series of bumps only to have the ABS activate. It lead to a fairly negative opinion of ABS and a variety of claims ABS actually caused crashes. Especially riding on loose dirt or gravel. Yet today, many of those early problems are solved. I'd venture a guess the answer to the motor question lies somewhere in between what's been reported and what happened.

YT Industries Begins Restructuring Under Self-Administration
@fromtheriver: They will need to submit a plan and have it approved. What bummed me out was the private equity financing. Almost like the former CEO made a bad decision.
