I am running a 2.35 moto digger at the back right now, Until my tubeless minions get here, I have at least a CM each side, Also Maxxis tires are not quite as big as they say, If you have a thinner rim, Eg. a tubeless compatible rim the tire loses around 0.2 of its width. You will find this with most Maxxis and Mavic mix's.

i never thought of that. it was on a dt swiss if that makes much difference.

If i remember DT swiss makes Quite wide rim's that could be why, The giant website says they take 2.5 though.

Bah you don't need 2.5s on an STP anyway

I do DH and freeride on mine, Until i have the money for a new frame and fork that is. But they take a hell of a beating.

Today i had to change my 2.5 minions to 2.35 High Roller's to go tubeless, Any flex in the rear wheel with 2.5 makes them rub. I withdraw my earlier comment.

O+
