I would skid the guide brakes for next season. First product years are usually not the best I would go for a saint set up. Avoid the Silent guide they don't work to well (Straightline is also shit). Why not go for a carbon bar?

well... this is pretty much my dream bike, only missing a Deity Locust stem, a RF chainring and a saint derraileur (not sure about the shifter, maybe I'll go for a saint or maybe a lighter XC thing)

everything else is gonna stay there untill I have beat the shit out of it... specs on request

My bike

M size M9 at 9,5" of travel, CCDB with a 400lbs cane creek Ti coil, Boxxer WC, front Code R, rear Elixir, both with 7" discs, Atlas bars and cranks, truvativ howitzer stem and post, Pimplites laced to DT 440 (rear) and 240s (front) Funn combat 2 grips, Funndamental pedals, MRP G2, older (non-clutch) 9spd X9 shifter and derraileur, Fizik nisene seat... and I think that's it tup pretty stoked, I was in Europe for 40 days and went riding just once on a 29er, so being with my M9 again is f*cking awesome

Tried a pair of guides and really liked them, plus the guy who ran them had been using them pretty hard and said he had no problems. I've heard and seen only good things about the silent guide. After running carbon bars and cranks this season, I can't justify the weight and stiffness compared to the price, and the new atlas stuff feels pretty dialed.

If you're on a team cant you get a discount on RF stuff?

Carbon bars are the real deal.

I guess that is true... and I certainly do like my sixc bars atm. Maybe I'll get another pair.

Nobody is on production guids ATM. There WILL be production issues that WILL cause problems. There Always is with sram stuff (Think first year of Totem, code, elixir, 10 speed, etc).

I'm not that worried about it, I'll probably run a set on my trail bike early season, if I like them, I'll get another set for my dh bike, if not, I'll sell them, and get shimanos for both of my bikes.
