I made a lot of upgrades in the last year but now my bike is 30.5 pounds, it excels in every type of riding fron DH to FR to SS to DJ and I go to whistler for about a month every summer and ride black diamond and double black trails nearly everyday and nothing breaks. Best thing is, is that all I have to do if I want a new bike is get a new frame because all my parts are the best you can get!

This guy sells these X1's for like $1600.00 if you make offers and haggle with him.
I have the Reign X and I can't believe how "all around" capable and responsive it is for such a plush bike. But, I firmly believe you have to ride them all and see which one makes you excited to go bigger.
Sorry to get a bit off topic here. But I just have a question for all you reign x supporters.
How well does it pedal uphill? Anyone pedals it uphill with a coil shock for more than 20 minutes?
I have, and I think it does really well. I have a coil tstr on mine. But, it is definitely not a xc race bike. The platform is very stable though, and if you build it correctly you could easily have a 31-34# bike that would climb exceptional. I have mine built more for FR and it pedals up just fine. I am way outa shape, and I still can go up a moderate hill for more then 20 minutes.

Well that sounds good. The thing is I currently ride an 06 RM Slayer. Its set up with a float rp3 in the back and a Marzo 66 RC2X in the front (pics on the profile), and it does pedal nicely, but its mostly due to the rp3´s propedal. I have contempladed upgrading my bike and getting a new frame. I´ve thought about the Giant because it seems like a great choice for someone who trail rides and also races some downhill. But the company speaks wonders of their virtual pivot, maestro suspension. So I was wondering if its all that good. As far as I am concerned, virtual pivot isolates pedal imputs from the suspension travel, so it sounds awesome. Wonder if there is a huge tangible difference between pedaling a single pivot and a virtual pivot.
