Don't mean to dig up a 9 month old thread but out of interest, why don't any surfbboards have foot straps like those on windsurf boards? Sureley this would make them easier to control etc?

^ Some do. But only those for tow-in surfing and big wave surfing.

Its like saying why don't freeriders use clips or straps on their bikes. Well because of tricks and manouvering. You get a lot more freedom to do tricks and manouver the board in different ways without straps. (think of a hang 10)

Big wave mountain surfers basically go on a straight line, so straps seem logical, plus you get breaks inside the same wave, so you have to kind of do drops and stuff, so you want that surfboard to stay attached to your feet.

I rarely surf, but when I've done it I've never felt a need for straps.

Need to start posting more on these forums so here I got...

I use to be an addicted surfer then I got back into mountain bikes to have something to do in the summer when its flat and now I don't go in the water much anymore. I use to go 6 days a week.

With that said I still really enjoy surfing.

I want to live there so bad. I heard there are great trails for bikes and dirt bikes as well.

I even put my resume up in Monster.com for jobs only in Hawaii.

Some day, some day.

Trails kind of suck out here if your into the fast flowly single tracks type stuff and its getting worse, at least here on the big island. We just lost our best trail on this side cause it was on private land and some dumb asses were poaching and screwed it up for the rest of us.

Oahu, Maui, and Molokai has some good trails.

Otherwise its nice. I really dig the weather, its really easy to get bored biking out here cause you can do it all year round.

Just had to sell my downhill to fund my Europe surifng trip, got a good route planned I think, any suggestions would be good though.

Also saw this while researching http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/news - they're giving away a surf trip in Port d'Albret - it's sick there.
