Luca Shaw vs. Troy Brosnan in round one of the final.
"Racers ready..." Kinda cool. The gate starter hits this button and the random start is engaged. Sometime--in the next 3-6 seconds-the gate will drop. But it is genuinely completely random.
Luca Shaw, not even sure if he's turned 16 yet, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him in the next few years...
and Bas van Steenbergen as well, while he's making a mark in racing, Tom van Steenbergen is killing it in slopestyle
Bas looked like he might make it through to the final but couldn't quite get past Troy Brosnan.
Tim Mangini (145) vs. Bas Van Steenbergen (179)
Alejandro Ortiz (nearest rider to the camera) and Brendan Fairclough punching out of the gate.
Quentin Derbier running hard.
Sam Hill has done well here in the past, but didn't quite have enough to make it all the way through last night.
Needles vs. Thibaut Ruffin
Bas van Steenbergen and Bernard Kerr
Alejandro Ortiz (162) vs. Ropelato (20).
Steffi Marth and Fionn Griffiths racing for 3rd.

Mitch Ropelato went off autopilot and choked--somehow getting a top tube ride immediately after this turn as he was working to edge out Bas Van Steenbergen.
Brosnan and Guillaume Vanet going head to head. It's been good to see Brosnan back in action--the bruised spleen he suffered at an IXS Cup in Leogang, Austria last May has finally healed up enough that the young Aussie has been cleared to ride. Although his docs may not have had dual slalom and pump track racing in mind for his re-hab...
