Eastern Europe is on the march. The Polish company DunCon is bravely entering the American market with its latest author collection of hardtails and fulls, presenting seven frames in total at attractive prices, suited to the toughest of MTB challenges. The flagship Cane Corso which is a downhill fully and has 8.2" of rear travel, is fitted with a VPP suspension system. It comes with a choice of two dampers, depending on the intended use: the Fox DHX 5.0 for racing, DH and Marzocchi Roco or the Romic for freeride. The Tosa Inu is of identical construction to the CC, and is designed as an Enduro / freeride machine. It uses the same suspension as the CC, but has maximum rear travel of 6". Duncon recommends the use of the standard Fox DHX Air 5.0. The third of the fully shock-absorbed constructs is the Akita - a simple single pivot with a rear triangle designed by the Double Triangle Swingarm Concept, which provides rear travel between 100-140mm. The choice of damper is up to the customer, however Duncon recommends airshocks.

If you don't fancy putting a fully together, you have four remaining choices, in effect four hardtails. Cocker is an ultra-burly aluminium freeride animal, designed using Hydroforming technology, fitted with adjustable vertical drop outs and can be supplied with onepointfive headsets. Pussy has been designed with dirt and street in mind, hence its butted, cro-moly tubes and short rear triangle. It has open horizontal drop outs, welded grindplates and can be fitted with either disc or traditional v-brakes. The remaining two frames Pitbull and Amstaff are the best rated Duncon products in Europe. The Pitbull is a frame for 4X Racing and hardtail FR, with aggressive geometry and a number of reinforced areas, while the Amstaff is recommended as a go-getting enduro or 4 X bike.

All of the frames are available in a range of standard colours, but for an additional fee you can customize the paint job, and DC offers several off-the-peg designs or you can make you own more individual and unique creation.

Duncon was established in Krakow, Poland. Its main aim is to adapt its product for use in particular types of MTB. For 4 years its has been creating frames to its own designs. While the design process remains in Poland, the frames are put together by prestigious Taiwanese factories. Duncon products are to be found practically every where in Europe, in a number of Asian countries and have recently arrived in Australia and Mexico.
