The Hollywood premiere of Billy Savage’s film, KLUNKERZ, will take place on Saturday afternoon, June 30th at the Vine Theater during The Bicycle Film Festival. The theater is located at 6321 Hollywood Blvd. just west Vine Street.
In the film KLUNKERZ Billy Savage examines the genesis of the sport of mountain biking, tracing its origins to a small group of friends in Northern California’s Marin County in the late 1960s and 1970s. The film includes interviews with many of the sports pioneers and some of the more obscure characters that influenced them.Many of the KLUNKERZ cast members will be present at the screening, including Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Charlie Kelly, Alan Bonds, The Larkspur Canyon Gang and more. There will be some historic bicycles on hand, as well.
Savage describes the feature-length documentary as an homage to his magical childhood in Marin County and his love of bicycles
