Mountain Bike in my Head - Luciano "KDra" Lancellotti

Feb 18, 2012
by Lucas Alcalde
For the first of five episodes, we got Luciano Lancellotti's stand point from mountain biking as a media & reporter of the sport for so long. He believed in a dream, became a professional rider, then pursued a carrer in the media side of mountain biking. Today he works for ESPN in São Paulo, Brazil, and is known as an "mtb guru", helping others within the sport and never giving up on his dreams.

Thanks Luciano "KDra" for receiving us at ESPN, the mountain biking world appreciates it!

For the next episode we go to Brevard, North Carolina to shoot JT Linville - a junior downhill rider who definitely has skills and lots of determination to get where he wants. He will talk about the challenges a junior riders goes through, his plans for 2012 and how mountain bike happens in his head, I got to say... it is a very interesting story!

not sure about the comments about ski lifts and lodgings been a catalyst for growth in the sport im sure it helps to have such things but here in the UK we have precious little of these and have a healthy race scene and have produced some stellar riders too, id certainly swap my UK ski pass for some of that brazilian sun.

The video is pretty good Lucas Alcalde. I remember clearly when he use to live a block from my house and he always tells me to go ride at the "SOFA", dirt jump park 5 min from my house that he built with some other people, and i always wanted but never went till one day that he took me there and taught me how to ride and for 2 years, i am guessing, i had the sickest moments of my life. I am thankful to him of taking me to the gravity side of the sport. I remember riding there and Zorro , his dog, doing the jumps with him or just playing all day all over the place.GOOD TIMES!

Like him, there are a lot of guys (myself included) at same age who always have dreamed to be a motocross rider and figured out downhill as an opportunity to attain it. I'm sure this was the pathway and not the destination. Today bike is part of my life like my family, friends and my job. I owe to the "two wheels" practice, part of the funniest and happiest moments in my life

yeah..tripod would help..i thought wtf espn and all they got was a lousy shaky handycam?!!! KDra is awesome, and I feel quite like him; looking out of the window I'm thinking of biking, basically anything in my head turns itself around the sport, no matter what i do or where i am. he's a great addition to the sport and developed it in so many ways, thats just awesome. being first gen in extreme sports sure is cool! Keep it up,live to ride!cheers

I find it ironic he is wearing a shirt that says,"moto is my life" for a mtb video titled "mountain bike in my head"... I'm not really sure what this guy is all about.

if you had watched the whole movie he clearly explains why hes wearing that shirt! he doesn't like to distinguish between any port on two wheels and always wanted to ride motocross but never really got the opportunity.

@ p-romano- This is what he's talking about. The Ecstasy of riding and mobbing life.

"She could be found out dancin'
At ludlow st. and stanton
Oh, you should've seen her
Shake it up like Orangina.
We got on like a house on fire.
Even though she's my friend
We never knew when to say when
Every little move she made was a ticker tape parade
And everything she'd say was a national holiday
No one ever got me higher
And even though she's my friend
We never knew when to say when"

For a guy that has been riding a bike for 35 years, I don't find him really at ease on his enduro bike...
