If you came to comment about Pac NW trails being pumptracks/ too smooth/ not as good as the alps/ not enduro trails/ etc, please kindly piss off back to your insanely sick super gnartech "real enduro" trails and let us have fun ripping through the trees at high rates of speed. Thanks!
WORD... Yes, it's open and fast, but that's Central Oregon and it's a SUPER FUN and FAST trail... They weren't easy to make either. I know cause I have been cutting fire-breaks in C.OR for many years so every inch comes from bood sweat and dangerous work conditions. It's not like you can just waltz in as a "Euro" and win on them either. They're different, not better/worse then other tracks, just different. They're just going to favor a fast rider who knows how to ride a big fast track with a lot of jumps and rhythm. I think if you asked racers from ANY region they'd say that they like variety and a trail like this is massive fun to ride so why should everything fit into mold of every other track??? I've never thought "I don;t want to ride/race this track cause it's not like this other track I really like and know". They're sick trails and perfect for racing end of story.
well... I actually came down to comment on how fun that trail looks and that you Benders out in Oregon know how to make some sweet trails. Cant wait for my trip to Bend next month!
Yeah, but he did at least compliment our trails, though with some sarcasm...
Another great thing about this planet, all the different types of terrain out there to ride.
Apologies fellas, wasn't meant to insult anyone's trails. I was just sick of seeing all the above quoted comments about the last set of Oregon Enduro vids. Born and raised Oregonian so I might be a little bit sensitive bout it. Have fun out there!
Um... he's from Seattle, how was he "sarcastically" talking about our/his trails??? last time I checked Seattle was smack dab n the middle of the PNW.
@WestwardHo: Born and Raised Oregonian??? How do you deal with Washington drivers?!?!? I played soccer for Clark and then Puget Sound and they drove me nuts... Driving slow in the left lane and being an a*shole about it is not an endearing quality. And with higher speed-limits no less!!!
Note to self: get a 4x bike for enduro racing Oregon. That stuff looks so sweet, but it would definitely be a waste of weight and efficiency to use a longer travel rig on those trails. I gotta get back.
I, like most Oregonians, love riding in bend. Trails are super rad, dirt is great and so is that central oregon weather. But I have always thought that bend is more suited to a Super D format moee than enduro, there just isn't enough vertical in my opinion for a good enduro race. I haven't raced this one though, so i could be way off base!
@emsley- Any bike shop in Bend will also have a "Central Oregon Trail Map" They are about ten bucks and have all the trail systems in and around Bend printed on a water resistant type of topo paper with clear road and paths marked as well. This would include Sisters, Waldo Lake, Paulina Rim, Grey Butte, Swampy Wells, Deschutes River to Sun River, MT. Bachelor area, and of course Phils trail complex to include the FreeRide area known as The Lair and much more. Hope you have fun - HTF.
Everyone in town knows this trail/trails. Super easy to shuttle with lots of other great routes to take close by. Hit up the Cogwild folks when you get to Bend, they will set you right. This course is fast and flowy for sure, but its our race track, it was purpose built that way, theres 500 miles of singletrack out here, theres plenty of technical stuff, it just isnt easy to access for a race, you gotta earn your DH in Bend. much to my dismay. Have fun out there everyone!! I'll be the super annoying guy with the cowbell yelling at you all to pin it!

I gotta get back.
Heading to Bend in a couple months.
Thanks in advance, fellas.
