Trans Sierra Norte is a multi-day all-mountain race over the beautiful mountains of Oaxaca, a city south of Mexico city. The trails you will be racing on, have been there for centuries used back in the day by local mountain communities to connect with each other and to exchange goods. These trails are 4–8 km length with more than 1000 meters of elevation gain, expect long, fast and rowdy stages during a 3-day backcountry adventure to then finish in the beautiful city of Oaxaca to party and celebrate the famous Mexican holiday "day of the dead". This region is also well known for its traditions, culture, and gastronomy.

Cool! But $600 US dollars entry fee?...I have been riding those mountains since 2006 and I can say that those are some of the best MTB trails you can find in Mexico. But come on guys, with those prices its sounds a lot more like bussinness than enduro racing to me...at least for most of the Mexican riders anyway...

@webermtb you made a good point, that is expensive for a local. But from my point of view as mtb tourist this event looks AMAZING and appears to be a great value $ wise. Mtb can be an expensive hobby and this event is definitely created to make a profit. This is a race but even more so a travel adventure for most people.

I was unaware that race promoters should not make business from a "Enduro" race.

I was in the last fecha of Enduro Gravity Tour in october, i can say Oaxaca has an unique mix of culture and mtb riding experience, mainly if you go on day-of-the-dead period; there are long and technical trails that requires good physical skills.I had the pleasure of meeting local riders, who helped me a lot during my journey. Anyone will go to Oaxaca will not regret.

Saludos desde Brasil !

its not clear to me.... I see that there are some big climbs, but are they part of timed sections? Is this, in fact, an enduro format? Nothing really says "enduro".... bro.

@locodhrider: just checking. People love to throw enduro around as a buzz word. "Enduro adventure..." My neighbor thinks that riding to the grocery store and cutting through my front yard is... enduro as f*^k

@livehardrideharder: You will see what does going down on a bike means once you come over and get more than 4000 ft in 3 miles per descent having 5 of these ones per day over natural trails and different kind of terrain! This one won´t disappoint you at all! For more info please check out our website www.transierranorte.com

There is always a good excuse to get out school and even better with a bike trip and Mexican party celebrating the "day of the dead".
