vermonster (Sep 19, 2012 at 16:23)

After watching this video I really wish Châtel Mountain Style had these conditions, looks so epic.

20

dogma13 (Sep 20, 2012 at 6:25)

brucemacd FL (Sep 19, 2012 at 11:05)

Great video, he's got great style on a bike. Doesn't he ride for Rose bikes though, see he's riding a Trek Session 88 in the video?

20

tabletop84 (Sep 19, 2012 at 15:04)

Yeah that's weird. He also rode a unlabeled session in chatel.

21

finnrambo (Sep 20, 2012 at 22:28)

i thought he was riding for scott? the kit sure looks the part

10

tabletop84 (Sep 21, 2012 at 5:13)

I think it's the rose vaujany team jersey

according to this promo vid he's still with rose: bike-channel.tv/film/rose-vaujany-gravity-team-nico-vink-rampage

10

bikounet (Sep 23, 2012 at 0:57)

Yep, but his bike actually sucks a bit... So he rides his old Trek when he's not on contest or else...

10

tabletop84 (Sep 23, 2012 at 4:15)

I think he rode the trek even in the qualifier for chatel mountain style. Once talked to Bobby Root and he wasn't to keen on them bikes either...

20

hubertje-ryu (Sep 20, 2012 at 3:50)

Yes, he should be riding Rose, but as I recall he liked the Trek a lot.. So maybe Rose's contract applies only for World Cups.
Maybe he likes his old Trek more and uses it for the events where he's not bound to the Vaujany team..
By the way, as far as I know his english is as good as his french, so I have no idea why the interviews are in french and the subtitles in english in this movie.
edit: maybe 'cause it was shot in france by a french team..

The only way to train for Rampage is to train in Utah. Nothing compares to the stuff out there!

10

lalodh (Sep 19, 2012 at 15:58)

I thought the same, he is a very good rider but landing in Utah´s soft soil id different than landing at high speed in Cahtel, he will have to ajust that on body and bike. Good luck in Rampage!!

33

Protour (Sep 19, 2012 at 21:26)

That isn't nearly as true as it used to be though, cause there are so many groomed line now. I remember the one time I went to watch in 2003, most of the drops they were hitting hadn't ever been hit, and they were landing in virgin powder. That seems like a rarity now, but it is still unique.

Liam-Bosse (Sep 19, 2012 at 18:40)

Is it just me, or were the subtitles in this video done by someone who also doesn't know how to speak english? lol

30

finnrambo (Sep 19, 2012 at 15:38)

gnarly course, that step down is huge!
