Sponsor House Delivers Better Then Pizza Hut

Turner Bikes goes Streamline with SponsorHouse.com:

2005 marked the first year that So Cal based Turner Bikes enlisted the services of SponsorHouse.com. Turner has seen steady growth over the past few years, and with that comes more sponsorship requests. Turner Bikes accepted 2005 rider resumes this year, exclusively through SponsorHouse.com. After watching the team grow, and paper work vanish, we thought we'd ask Turner TM Casey Spangler, how their first year of SponsorHouse service was?

1)You've recently moved into a new building, expanding your operation.....How has it been, having some space to operate?

So having more space is great, finally we don't have to sit on the frame boxes waiting for them to ship. The old building was a good stepping stone but the new place should hold us for many years to come!

2)You provided race bikes for E.C. in the past, how did that relationship benefit Turner?

Having E.C. was huge. He gave us that legitimacy we long needed. We always knew our bikes rock, but until you have a guy like E.C. throw a leg over, everyone still sorta wonders. It was beneficial also in the feedback standpoint. The guy really knows his stuff and more importantly how to put it into words. I know a great deal of tweaks to various bikes came from feed back by E.C.

3)There seems to be more and more Turner bikes here in So Cal....what's the secret?

We have this really cool clan of garden gnomes which sneak into peoples homes and plant the seed. No really, I am not sure what the secret is. In fact if I did we would stop selling bikes and start selling "THE SECRET". Until then we just try to make products that work and treat people much like we would want to be treated. We have been fortunate so far and hope to have continued success.

4)How many resumes did you currently receive a year?

Honestly this is the first year in which I have handled the sponsorship full time. I would look at the people who did it before me with piles and piles of résumé's on their desks. Many times they would either get lost or thrown away. I can't really put a number on how many we had, but it made for way too much paperwork!

5)What has been your favorite part about using the SponsorHouse system?

Everything being in one spot, easy to use and no paperwork. The resumes seem to really have been tuned, and contain information which is helpful in making our decisions on sponsorship.

6)What has been the quality of rider that has sent you sponsorship requests through SponsorHouse.com?

So far so good. We have had a few jokers. Guys who accept and then decline when it comes time to pay the piper. For the most part the riders have been great, really easy to deal with and seem genuinely interested in helping to support our brand. I actually received a letter from a SponsorHouse athlete who wanted to thank us for the offer of sponsorship. He ended up not being able to accept the frame due to some prior financial commitments; Intense must have gotten to him first or something. Anyway it is good to get athletes who seem to realize the importance of sponsorship and that it is not something we simply due for fun.

7)How do you plan on utilizing the full potential of SponsorHouse in the future?

We will just keep on keepin' on. Sponsorhouse is the perfect resource for up and coming athletes as well as seasoned veterans to gain insight into what manufacturers are looking for in a resume. The easier it is for us to go through the process, the more opportunities we have to help.

Cool What's in store for the Turner Bikes Brand in the immediate future?

Things are good here now. We just build more and sell more bikes.

9)Explain a typical day in the life of the Turner Bikes TM?

There never seems to be a "typical" day around here. Something is always going haywire. For the most part my day is consumed with phone calls and emails. Mostly guys wanting to know where their bike is. I try to stay in regular contact with our fabrication facility to make sure things are running smooth and going to be on time.
