At the start of the season I came across these saddles by the folks at
SDG and just had to get a few for our riders to enjoy. The SDG Bel Air has a more traditional cross country shape to it, but with more and more downhillers pedalling their steeds around, seats of old, big and bulky designs are becoming less of a commodity. The Bel Air will more then treat your average cross country rider right, but it was the look of these particular saddles that made me want to get our riders on them. The SDG Bel Air Ti by Tyler

I've been running a farely typical freeride saddle the past 2 seasons on my big bikes and then a cross country saddle on the XC bike. Well I don't see why I can't run an XC saddle on both as pedaling becomes less incumbersome on the big bike this way too. In comes the SDG Bel Air with its fine Tiger print that I just couldn't resist. Wait a minute, the seat's shape feels good too. Yes these fashion saddles really are nice seats to sit and pedal around on, even if one does not want a loud animal print, you can always choose from a handful of traditional colors too. But really the conversation topic of the prints is worth it all in it self. But be warned, if you are a rider that crashes a lot, the material is soft and thus more prone to a rip during a good crash. Aside from that, my Bel Air has lasted all season on my big bike and made pedaling it more comfortable.

-“OOO eeee OOO, nothing feels better under my ass then my SDG Bel Air saddle!”
-Form, function and fashion my “Bel Air” cow print saddle has got it all.
-My most prized possession on my bike is my cow print saddle, without it I would be lost!
-“Like a great fitting pair of ski boots”,“if your not comfy, your not happy” My SDG saddle is nothing but comfortable on those long ass climbs!
SDG SADDLE a la Steph
I can't say enough good things about the SDG Bel-Air Cr Mo seat. I can sum up the majority of my feelings in 3 words: still not broken. This is the first seat I've had on my Azonic that has lasted me more than a week since I've moved to Whistler. And it's not because I stopped crashing- heck no, quite the opposite. And aside from holding up to the wrath of Stephanie- it's also shown great potential as a conversation starter and material for cheesy pick-up lines. I don't think I've ever had so many people notice me or my bike since Tyler brought me my leopard print seat. And I have to admit, I kind of like the attention (a hard thing to come across in Whisler when you're up against all the pros and their hoes).
When I do have the chance to just sit down and roll on my bike, I do find that the SDG is also very comfortable. Multiple times I've thought about replacing it with a bmx seat only for the reason that with the geometry of my bike, I can't grab the skinny thing between my legs when I jump. But when it comes to this seat I just can't give up style for function, so I can see it being a permanent fixture on my bike until the upholstery eventually gives. After a month and a half it's started peeling back from the rear of the saddle where it tucks under the seat. This seat is 3.5 style points, 3.5 pick up lines, and 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.
