- Alternating Schedules for Ultimate Freeride Challenge and Ultimate XC Challenge allow Freeriders and Singletrack Junkies to Share the Spotlight -

In an effort to restore balance to the mountain biking universe, Race Face Performance Products will alternate hosting their popular Ultimate Freeride Challenge and Ultimate XC Challenge online peer-judged competitions every other year starting in 2006. Based on the success of its inaugural Ultimate XC Challenge, Race Face will host the UXC again in 2006, giving the next crop of Freeride stars time to mature until they hold the UFC V in 2007.The Ultimate Freeride Challenge was first announced in 2001, a time when Freeriding was just creeping on to mountain bike culture’s radar screens. Over the past four years, the online, peer judged competition has served as a platform from which professional Freeride careers were launched. Tyler Klassen, Matt Hunter, Wayne Goss, Cam McCaul and Carlin Dunne are all beneficiaries of the UFC franchise.

Now, the team at Race Face thinks it’s time to share the love, pay tribute to mountain biking’s roots and give the XC riders something to cheer about. So, for 2006, Race Face will be concentrating its efforts on making the second Ultimate XC Challenge an even greater success than it was last year.

And, while the UFC will be on hiatus this year, freeriders needn’t worry; the UFC will return bigger and better than ever in 2007.
