Banff Mountain Film Festival Coming to Vancouver
The Banff Mountain Film Festival, a program of The Banff Centre, is the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world. Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, Alberta, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road and four weeks later screens in Vancouver.
With stops planned in about 400 communities and 40 countries across the globe, this year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival.
Traveling to exotic landscapes and remote cultures, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports, the 2014/2015 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.
From approximately 350 films entered into the annual festival, award-winning films and audience favourites. Join local host the Alpine Club of Canada - Vancouver Section and the BC outdoor community when the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to downtown Vancouver, at The Centre for Performing Arts (Westside Church), 777 Homer Street, on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 pm (doors 6:00). I am put off by the BFF more year after year. It used to be dirt bags and low production and friggen givn er. Now its corporate backed expeditions up god knows where to claim a first decent that some dirtbag or sherpa has already claimed but not on the books. Bring back the roots of a couple 50 year old guys paddling some nasty river in Northern BC. I could care less about money driven adventures.
