Fantasy XC League Contest: How-To

HOW TO PLAY

1. SIGN UP

You must a registered Pinkbike User to play Fantasy XC presented by Rockshox and SRAM. If you are not a registered Pinkbike user you can sign up for FREE.

2. CHOOSE YOUR TEAM:

Each player has a virtual $1,500,000 budget to build their Fantasy Team.

Your Fantasy Team contains 6 Team Athletes. Select 3 male athletes and 3 female athletes to complete your Fantasy Team. The riders you can choose in the Fantasy League system have been selected by the following criteria:
- The rider did at least 2 WC races last year
- The rider had at least 1 top 60 finish
- Select first year elite riders ( Juniors in 2020 )
- New Riders may be added round per round

Pick your rider by first clicking the Pick WC Racer button and select from the drop down menu. Repeat for all 6 Racers. You can see the value of each rider in the drop down menu.

Remember you do not have unlimited budget, so pick wisely. TIP: check riders' social media, declared plans for 2021, and early season results to help make your decisions. You do not need to spend all your budget to build your team yet you can only spend up to the $1,500,000 limit.

Once you have all your team selected, click Save.

3. MANAGE YOUR TEAM:

Every round each participant can make as many changes as you like. Your changes will be restricted by your available budget. To make changes select EDIT TEAM button and then select the rider you wish to change. Then choose your new rider from the drop down list.

Team changes are permitted up until May 7 2021. After that, your selections are locked in for the first race, and you can make changes to your team per round after each race. There will be a countdown timer for team changes each round.

For the UCI MTB World Championships, new athletes may be added to the list of available riders.

05.09.2021 - XC World Cup #1 - Albstadt, Germany
05.16.2021 - XC World Cup #2 - Nove Mesto, Czech Republic
06-12.2021 - XC World Cup #3 - Leogang, Austria
07.03.2021 - XC World Cup #4 - Les Gets, France
08.28.2021 - XC World Championships - Val Di Sole, Italy
09.04.2021 - XC World Cup #5 - Lenzerheide, Switzerland
09.18.2021 - XC World Cup #6 - Snowshoe, USA

4. PLAY AGAINST YOUR FRIENDS:

Users can create a League to compete with friends. Note: You can only join one other league.

Click the CREATE LEAGUE button to create your own League. You will be asked to create a password. You can invite friends by sharing the league link and providing your password.

You can opt to join another league. Click CHANGE LEAGUE button to see a list of alternate leagues. Note: To Join a new league you may require a password as issued by the league creator.

RACE ROUND SCORING

For each round of the 2021 UCI World Cup XC circuit and the World Championships, your Fantasy Team will accrue points based upon your athletes' final placing. Points will be awarded as follows:

5. WIN PRIZES

There are prizes for each round, as well as a Grand Prize for overall top team after all 7 rounds at the end of the season.

Grand Prize: The Fantasy Team with the most points after the 6 round UCI World Cup and the 2021 UCI World Championships in Val Di Sole will WIN a Complete Bike with a World Cup race ready spec featuring SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS, RockShox SID Ultimate, RockShox Reverb AXS, SRAM Level ULT brakes Should there be multiple teams with the same total cumulative points scores, the grand prize will be awarded through a random draw.

Round Prizes: Each race round will have a prize for the Top Fantasy Team of that round. Should there be multiple teams with the same total points for that race round a random draw will occur to determine the prize winner.

IMPORTANT: We recommend you have your team created by May 7 2021. You will want to maximize your points score and have your team present for all races! Teams created at a time after races have previously occurred earlier will not be eligible to backlog points that riders would have accrued from previous races.


The Fantasy XC League is Presented by RockShox and SRAM.

 Why did you choose not to include the XCC-Points in the ranking? I think it would have made it even more tactical/difficult to choose a team and it would have more closely reflected what the team managers have to consider.
Of course it's no big deal, but I still would have liked to see XCC-Points being counted too Smile

 @sasquatchbike: I think I thought of a reason why they might not:
Which riders actually choose to take part in XCC is, I think, only being announced a few hours before the XCC-Start. (I‘ot entirely sure though)
Yana Belomoina for example chose not to take part in the XCC last week, she‘d rather sace her energy for the XCO.
Making changes to their team might not be possible for everyone in those last hours before the Start, especially for people from different time-zones who might be sleeping during that time.
