Flaér are to bring their chain performance revolution to the off-road market with the launch of the Revo Terra, a chain performance system for mountain bikes. This innovative new tech was revealed for the first time at Eurobike 2017 and thereafter it will be available exclusively through Flaér’s international network of distributors and retailers.

The Revo Terra is the world’s first chain performance system designed specifically for mountain bikes. The system will keep the transmission operating at peak performance from start to finish, no matter what the conditions. It works by applying a precise quantity of Flaér’s specially developed Terra Fluid to the chain as you ride allowing 5% more power to be transferred to the wheel, making shifting smoother and keeping the chain and cassette visibly cleaner, whilst eradicating chain suck. Built and tested to withstand the toughest trails, the Revo Terra will provide optimum chain performance enabling you to climb easier, descend harder and ultimately ride better.

Terra Fluid has been designed to be continually re-applied via the Revo Terra system so the chain is always at its most efficient and performance is kept at its peak. Flaér have balanced the lubricating properties of the fluid with cleanliness resulting in the cleanest lube there is. The unique non-stick formula means minimal dirt build up on the transmission and it keeps working at its most efficient all the time! Additionally Terra Fluid adds a protective layer to all transmission components and its special formula is washable with just water, making cleaning significantly easier.

The highly anticipated release comes after the Revo Terra won the MTB Product of the Year award at the International MTB Conference Awards in November. Although this game-changing chain performance system is only now coming to the off-road market, the Revo Via has been making waves in the Road scene since its launch at Eurobike last year.

The origin of the chain performance system comes from a well-established automotive business with over 30 years’ experience in motorcycle chain performance. From this, a group of passionate cyclists developed the Revo Via & Revo Terra chain performance systems after a research collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University Sports and Exercise Scientists. Through this research with elite riders it was identified that between 5 and 10% of a riders energy can be wasted when the chain is not optimised.

bigquotesWhen we developed the chain performance system it soon became apparent from both the rider feedback and the extensive test data gathered that we would need to develop separate systems and fluids for off-road and road. The riding conditions can be so different, in particular for off-road, that we had to develop specific fluids and systems for each discipline. Our tests have shown that a Revo Terra really can make a significant difference to a drivetrains performance when cycling off-road.Chris Simpson, Flaér Technical Director said

Flaér believe this revolutionary new product will change the whole ethos of chain performance; proposing a variation on the traditional method of applying lubricant to your chain before you ride. The Revo Terra enables riders to lubricate their chain whilst they ride, when they really need it!

Flaér’s products are currently being championed by the leading Enduro World Series Cube Action Team. Their Irish rider Greg Callaghan has been using the system for a while now and described it as “a deadly bit of kit”.
