This summer we sent James Shirley back to his homeland in search of the awesome vistas that Scotland continues to provide. As ever, no trip to Scotland is without drama and after a lot of careful planning to shoot a sun rise video, the weather wasn't playing ball. So the guys ended up shooting into the sunset.
| The original plan was to do a sunrise mission but we were following the weather forecast and it looked miserable for the next few weeks... The only good spell of weather we had was right there, right then, that evening! It's so exciting doing things on the spur of the moment. We rocked up to Ben Lomond and I couldn't believe just how great the light was. The sky was beautiful. We were still up the mountain as the sun was setting and so we had an interesting night time descent to deal with on the way back down. It's safe to say that we made life difficult for ourselves but it was one of those adventures that you never forget—James Shirley. Identiti Factory Enduro Rider |

| As ever, the best-laid plans! We had been waiting for a weather window to produce a sunrise, dawn raid film but as ever we’d been undone more than once. So James called me on a Wednesday at around 2 pm. Given that our office is 3 hours from Ben Lomond, we packed the car super fast and agreed to meet at 5.30 pm. It was roasting when we got there and Liam and I set off in search of the summit. James spilled oil on his rotor leaving him an hour behind us after he’d changed it, which of course meant that light was again an issue! We really had to film freestyle which is not how’d we usually like to do it but given the size of the mountain, and the encroaching darkness things turned out ok. A hard evenings work but worth the views.
