Washington State Trails

How did all this happen? This year YOU...

• Allowed us to hire a professional trail crew of over 30 full-time builders.
• Made it possible to have 7 excavators operating at once to crank out trail mileage faster than ever before.
• Met our cash match needs to land managers to get new trails funded and built.
• Helped us buy a much-needed quad and several new tools.
• Enabled us to increase our advocacy voice as we grew to 3,300 members.
• And volunteered like never before to report more than 17,000 hours for 2016!

And that’s just trails! Join us at the following events to keep the mountain bike revolution going:

• Get pumped about your 2017 trail connections at Winter Stoke: February 11
• Join fellow mountain bikers at the Big Tent Rally Day in Olympia: February 15
• Attend the 2nd Annual Evergreen Lobby Day in Olympia: February 22 to speak up about mountain biking. We need riders from all over the state!

• And mark your calendar for the Evergreen Bike Festival: June 10-11

Our work is truly community-driven.  From all of us at Evergreen, thank you for your support and commitment—we can’t wait to ride the new trails with you soon!

Now let's get some work done over here on the east side... cheers! Smile

Unfortunately east and west evergreens aren't connected in that way. It's up to us on the east side to gather grants, fund raise, and carry out all trail building and management. Hopefully it will grow enough to have paid employees, machinery and build that much trail sometime down the road!

@schilly: Is there a South west group or are we on our own?
  • 1 0
@Motoracer31: I'm not sure how each chapter works, just familiar with east.
  • 3 0
@schilly is correct--but Evergreen HQ is available as a collaborator and resource to support all chapters across the Washington as they apply for grants and projects (particularly since they're all doing an epic job while being completely volunteer-run). We're all in it together to keep developing great trails around the state!

@Motoracer31: here's our current chapter structure: www.evergreenmtb.org/chapters No one's on their own!

@schilly: Eastside Evergreen is still very new, forming from a variety of other groups. The current push is certainly focused on Westside trails, granted. However there's a fair bit of work going on in Spokane and around Wenatchee.

The other thing I've more recently discovered is just how many bike legal trails there are in Eastern Washington! I've been working on documenting the trails on trailforks, I rolled over 1,000 trails marked on trailforks just today, most of them in the Wentachee / Okanagan trail area! Let's get those buffed out!

More DH is coming. As rowdy or more than Predator. And that's just Tiger. Raging has something in the works too.

EXIT 27. THEY'RE OUT HERE DUMBING DOWN THE NAMES, TOO.
  • 1 0
Who's dumbing down the names? 27 will become legal DNR trails in the near future. For now it's known but not talked about, but it will become part of the Raging River trail network.
