Kamloops local Matt Hunter rides at Sun Peaks Resort

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride with one of the best in the world. Known in the mountain bike world for going big on natural terrain with his own unique style, Kamloops local Matt Hunter is returning to Sun Peaks this summer for the Matt Hunter Free Ride Camp, July 14-18, 2008.“Matt has the skills to step to huge gaps with smooth style, all while maintaining a down-to-earth personality,” comments Lisa Sohni, Communications Manager with Tourism Sun Peaks. “Matt is a Kamloops success story and we are excited that he is returning to Sun Peaks to share his passion for mountain biking with area youth.”
Matt started riding when he was 4 years old and has continued to feed his passion for the sport as he continually takes it to the next level. Matt’s feature segments in SEASONS, the latest release from The Collective, sums up just how solid of rider he is. Matt rides for Helly Hansen, Specialized, DaKine, and Adidas Eyewear.

Taking all of the skills he has developed over the years, Matt will spend time over the 5 day camp to develop the skills of young riders and work on their confidence so they can hit the wooden features, hammer the single track, flow through the machine made trails, and send it on the dirt jumps. The coaches will also spend time on mountain bike setup and maintenance to ensure riders know how to maintain their rigs.
The Matt Hunter Free Ride Camp is suitable for riders aged 10-17 years who are riding at a low intermediate to advanced level. Camp begins each day at 9am and wraps up at 3pm. All riders registered for the full week will also receive a Matt Hunter autographed copy of SEASONS by The Collective, plus a limited edition Sun Peaks Bike Park T-shirt!

Bike Park Daily Lift Rates – Save 20%*
Adult (19-64) $30.40
Youth (13-18 ) $25.60
Child (6-12) $17.60
Senior (65+) $25.60
*These rates are exclusive to riders registered for the Matt Hunter Free Ride Camp. No exceptions.
Lunches are available for $8 per day. Shuttle services is available for $12/day or $50/week.
