In this episode, I was lucky enough to sit down and chat with none other than the legend himself, Brook Macdonald. We chat about racing, injuries, and the road back to the bike. We also have a chat about how he first got to the World Cup and what it takes to get on that top step.

As per usual huge thanks to Jordo from FSR Media for the Production, to the legends at Craftworks for keeping me rolling, and Dirtsurfer for keeping the mud off my face. I am super happy with how this turned out. If you want to listen to more follow me at @beyondthetape.podcast on Instagram, subscribe where all good podcasts are casted, and I would love any feedback to make this better.

Hey man thanks for putting up the podcast, it was really good content. I'm not someone who listens to a lot of podcasts, and this is the first of yours I listened to, but I do have some constructive feedback. The audio was pretty noticeable that Brook was remote, especially in the first 1/4 of the podcast where it seemed like there was a bit of lag, which just made the conversation a little bit awkward. I do know production is expensive though and flying out to an athlete to do an in person is probably cost prohibitive as well, but it would be better if it was in person as the conversation is more fluid and the audio will be easier to manage. Also, I think it would be cool if you introduced the athletes to the audience in a more creative way, perhaps have some more upbeat intro music playing and list off some of their major accomplishments and current projects etc to set the tone, the intro and ending were a little awkward and boring sounding. All in good time though. Overall the talk was great thank you again and keep it up!

Thanks for the feed back. As much as I would love to have the budget to do so, it would be great for me to have the $1000 AUD to bring brook across. I 100% agree with the intro, it doesn't do the rest of the content justice and a huge mistake on my part. Thanks for the feed back, I really appreciate it.

Would be great if you could improve the audio quality of the Skype interview. Like run it through Ableton Live or something.. and kill the cheesy late night smooching music too Lol

Thanks for the feedback mate. I am still looking into other remote recording options. The biggest issue with Skype is it wont save separate the guest and my audio so its hard to edit. If this music got you some smooching than I am happy for you. I really appreciate any feedback.

After fort bill there has been some discussion on how much wattage brook can put down. The question may be answered in this podcast.

Came here because the feed thumbnail photo of Brook looks like the photographer guy in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."
