Located at the North of Portugal, close to the Spanish border, Ponte de Lima is an old and typical Portuguese Village.
With great mountains and landscapes around the Village, all the conditions were gathered to invest in the first Bike Park in Portugal, that is open to public since 2011:
http://www.bikeparkpontedelima.com/After 4 years of great success with the bike park, the idea of building a pumptrack in the center of the village got stronger and with the City Council plans of a new city park, it was a great opportunity to take action.
In 2015 ProRide was contacted by the Ponte de Lima Council and by the PTL Bike Park direction and after some meetings and drawings the concept of the track was defined and the construction began at the end of that year.
After a couple of weeks to build everything with dirt, the first testing was made, but then winter came and since we had to wait until all the city park was built, we decided to take a break for 3 months.
The beggining of the construction.
With the good weather back, it was time for some more testing and changes and finally, the put the concrete.

After everything ready at the pumptrack we still have to wait some more months until all of the structures of the City park were ready and open to the public, which happened by the end on of 2016.
Since then the pumptrack has been busy with local kids on bikes, skates, roller skates, and scooters, but also it's been a great place to practice for expert bikes from Portugal and Spain.
The pumptrack is often used by skateboarders
Good work guys
