Last race here in 2019 was, as expected, wet and muddy. Pretty sure this will not be repeated this weekend.

The third stop of the Vitus Gravity Enduro Ireland Series 2022 is taking place this weekend in Cahir. In the middle of a heat wave that is hitting all of Europe this race is expected to be quick, fast, loose and maybe, just maybe, even a bit dusty, something some say never happens in Ireland. As you may already know, this year this series is coming back with some interesting changes ton the race format, with two formats available. In the Classic format riders practice Saturday and race Sunday. PRO riders must do the "Classic" format, race Sunday.

The Course
Mash Up – Saturday

The course is approximately 9km long with 3 mainly downhill timed stages (4,5 and 6). You can ride the stages in any order, any number of times within the notified time limit, typically 4 to 5 hours. The liaison between stages is not timed so you can ride at your leisure and catch up with your pals. The stages are technical and steep. Please note this event is not suitable for beginners. Your fastest times on each of the 3 stages are added together to form your overall time.

Classic – Sunday

The course is approximately 20km long with 6 timed stages for a total of about 750m descent. You must ride the stages in numerical order from 1 to 6 and a cut-off time still applies, 4.5 hours. The liaison between stages is not timed so you can ride at your leisure and catch up with your pals. The stages are technical and steep. Please note this event is not suitable for beginners. Your 6 stage times are added together to form your overall time. There are no second chances, 1 run and done!

Practice will be open from 8 to 10. Stages 1 to 3 will be closed from 10 am to 3 pm to allow riders from Mashup format to race. Practice opens again from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Race rules and other details can be found on the Vitus Bikes Gravity Enduro website .

For ebike riders on the Classic race format, we have big news! Big challenge ahead, you must complete all 6 stages twice, so 42km in total!
