Words: Pace CYCLES

Welcome to the new and improved 2024 RC529, the older sibling to the RC429.

The new RC529 will impress you no matter what your riding ability is. Blending state-of-the-art design and progressive geometry with the comfort and durability of Reynolds steel, it's a true everyday mountain bike infused with that legendary Pace DNA. It's fast, but this is one friend you can happily trust to keep you on the rails.

A climbing goddess that's more planted than your Gran's garden but will hold confidence when the trail falls off into the unknown abyss.
Based around the same platform as the original and best seller, we've redesigned the RC529 to bring it closer to its roots as a hardtail for hucking and hustling down the steeps and finding grip up those loose climbs.

What's changed? Well, we've slackened out the headtube, steepened up the seat tube, massively increased tyre clearance without compromising the already short rear end, lowered the seat tube and standover, plus a few other tweaks, including a fresh paint job. Overall, we think it turned out to be a belter and even better than we expected.

Like before, crucially, our RC529 platform has both the top tube and bottom bracket slammed low, so you're 'in' the cockpit rather than perched up high. This enables you to drop the saddle way down low for hooning down your fastest trail.
With an ultra-short chainstay, a steeper seat tube angle, and just the right amount of reach, you’re well balanced within the centre of the bike. It climbs just like a good trail bike should, but gives you confidence when the trail falls off a cliff.
The RC529 oozes quality with its perfect welds, blend of British Reynolds and Pace Chromo tubing, and deep, lustrous, and tough gloss paint. And with a Pace hardtail, it's strangely reassuring that you’re riding a bike that will probably outlive you.
Adjustable/replaceable CNC machined slideouts or T-Type compatible dropouts, rear rack mounts, ISCG tab, subtle reinforcing gusset, room for large section tyres (right up to a 27.5x2.8” if you fancy an mullet configuration), and supplied with Neoprene chainstay protector, cable clips, Hope seatclamp, and Burgtec thru axle, the 529 is fully loaded and ready to rip.
