Trans-Provence:哪些人?哪些車?

Trans-Provence 是法國一項多日分站 enduro 賽,從法國東南阿爾卑斯山區,經過一週賽程之後,來到地中海沿岸城市。這項比賽最大的特色就是可以飽覽壯麗的山景。報名成功的參加者,從抵達機場到賽事結束返回機場,全程由主辦單位規劃,交通接駁與賽事期間食宿(行李運送),參加者都不用自己花費時間安排。因此即便比賽志在參加,這段一週的旅程也完全值回票價。所以每年報名開放,名額隨即秒殺。

我們就來看看有哪些參加者他們又用了哪些車參加這場賽事。

參加者一抵達尼斯機場就把車組起來,會有專用接駁拖車將比賽用車運送至山區中。

Martin Zietsman,南非 - 這是我第一次參加,也是第一次在歐洲的阿爾卑斯山騎車,之前只在英國騎過。我騎了賽前暖身賽,要比我以前期過的路線都還要更操更陡。我會試著盡全力完成。目標放在前十名,最後看看結果會不會這樣。在這項比賽中,如果你發生機械故障或其他意外,就可以打包回家了。所以你必須好好享受每一分一秒。我們現在身在全世界最美麗的山區,置身最棒的人群中。如果這樣你還覺得沒什麼好享受,那你該好好想一下為何要騎登山車。

Caro Gehrig,瑞士 - 這是我第二次參加。跟一群同好一起真是太好玩了,所以我又再參加一次。很高興又回來這邊,騎上有趣的路線。我超愛的。還有露營!這個比賽就是享受騎車這件事,同時也是很好的訓練。你會跟很多人一起騎上非常多不同的路線。你必須反應迅速,照著直覺去騎。你必須懂得閱讀路線。要說這是比賽,還不如說是場冒險。我很喜歡在陌生的路線上盲騎比賽。要在快的同時還要時時小心,這真是個大挑戰。我的用車設定跟 EWS 時是一樣,很適合我。現在正要前往地中海沙灘,我的比基尼已經為最後分站準備好了。

I can t even keep track I think this is my sixth. It keeps changing that s what keep bringing me back. There are so many variables that can go wrong though there are no guarantees that you won t get lost or get stuck when trying to get over a fence. It s like a big reunion every year which keeps bringing me back. We re all a bit competitive you do want to do well. This one is a bit different though as there are so many things that can go wrong. It s not over till its over so its better to come with a mindset to enjoy. Enjoy the journey. I m riding a Juliana Roubion this year s edition is a bit bigger and the geometry has changed. Plus I ve got a bigger Lyrik fork upfront a 32T chainring upfront. Nothing special it s my reliable proven bike which climbs and descends great. On to the beach
Anka Martin,紐西蘭 - 我已經算不出來了,這好像是第六次參賽。每年都有的賽事變化,讓我每年都想回來。過程中有太多因素會出錯,所以並不能保證你不會輸,或是你不會在跨過圍欄時受傷。這像是個每年一次的同學會,讓我每年都想回來。

First time Trans-Provence looked forward to it for a long time. It s my post-ACL surgery present to myself. I m here for the adventure riding for the enjoyment definitely. Running a Santa Cruz with Conti Baron tyres with a RockShox Pike with a Fast cartridge and a Push 11-6 shock as I m a big guy. Furthermore I have Noble wheels a Squamish company with a nice wide footprint and a silent hub. Plus I use a 9.8 dropperpost another Canadian company.
Andres Runciman,加拿大 - 期待已久,第一次參加。這是十字韌帶手術後的禮物。我來是為了冒險,完全享受騎車的樂趣。

Santa Cruz 配上 Continental Baron 外胎、Roskchox Pike 內裝 Fast 機構, Push 11-6 後避震器。還有 Nobl 輪組,這是一家 Squamish 的小廠,生產超寬輪框與超安靜花鼓。伸縮座管是 9.8,又是另一家加拿大公司。

This is my second Trans-Provence. Looking forward to it from what I gather it is 100 different to when I rode it first. I ve had two years of injuries so I want to get through it cleanly and enjoy it. I haven t set a target. I want to ride with my friends and enjoy it. I m riding an Orange prototype which is likely to be their new 160 bike. I used a 140mm bike last time but this bike is a bit longer and slacker. The fork is at 170 and I m riding a single ring 30T and 11-46 on the rear. I run flats and probably only one of a handful to do so but that s the way I ve always liked it. I love blind racing some of the most fun runs I ve had even when just riding where blind. Six days of that on shit hard trails is excting

我騎的是 Orange 原型車,可能會是他們新型 160mm 行程車。上次我用 140mm 的車,但是這次用的車更長、更趴。前叉 170mm,前單盤 30 齒,飛輪 11-46 齒。我大概是少數使用平踏板的人,不過我就是喜歡這樣騎。

我喜歡盲騎的比賽,這往往就是覺得最好玩的路段。想到接下來六天都是這種操死人的玩意兒,覺得很興奮。

I ve been thinking about entering the race for a couple of years and decided to finally pull the trigger and sign up. Not sure what I got myself into. I m into the ride and will be a proud backmarker. laughs . My bike is the Franken genius A Scott Genius LT with a few custom bits. I smashed my rear rim a couple weeks back but managed to build it up on Thursday. I ve done a bit of riding and ski touring in the winter so hopefully I will not be that bad. I m not worried about the competition though I just want to enjoy the event. And not finish dead last.

Half my training has been done in London ideal for Enduro riding doing laps and sprint intervals in Ridgmond park. I d say I ride the Trans-Provence but as soon as I put a fullface helmet on I ll give it a go. It depends on my fitness. I m riding a XL Mondraker Dune which has the longest reach. It s massive. Carbon wheels new cranks I m going through pedal pins like crazy. I think I m on of few riding flats. I ve chopped the bars down a touch to 765mm. The whole reason to enter for me was to get fit. I haven t been properly fit for twenty years now. I ve lost 11 kilos and went from the last of my mates up the hill to beging the first. They re still faster in the downhills though and as the downhills are timed here and not the uphills...
Paul Clayton,英國 - 我有一半的訓練是在倫敦,在 Ridgmond Park 做繞圈與間歇訓練,所以很適合 enduro 方式的騎乘。參加這項比賽,只要一戴上全照安全帽,我就會全力衝刺。

我騎的是 XL 的 Mondraker Dune,它的座艙長度是最長的。它很大台。碳纖輪組、新曲柄。我也是少數使用平踏板的人。車把裁成 765mm。

我參賽的目的是保持身材。過去二十年我都一直維持自己的體態。我減了十一公斤,從約騎陣中最後一名,到現在第一個爬上山頂。他們下坡還是很快,但是這個比賽只計時下坡,上坡是不計時的...
