Seven Mid-Mountain Trails and One On-Mountain Skills Park Set to Greet Guests for Bike Park’s Opening Weekend
Winter Park Resort is excited to announce the opening of Trestle Bike Park for this weekend starting Saturday, June 21. Seven mid-mountain trails including Lower long Trail, Lower Boulevard, Lower Arapahoe, Tunnel Hill, Serenity, Fraser River Trail and Boot Camp will open along with the Sunspot Skills Park.“Given the amount of snow we had this winter, summer sun and warmth couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Bob Holme, Trestle Bike Park manager. “The Trestle Bike Park crew has been working around the clock to get our downhill trails open for this weekend. With a little more help from Mother Nature, riders can expect more trails to open very soon.”
Over the past two years, Winter Park Resort has worked to upgrade the trail system throughout Trestle Bike Park. New for this summer, the Olympia Express chairlift is slated to open in July to provide better access to Trestle’s 28 miles of trails and 75 on-mountain features.
Pending United State Forest Service approval, Trestle Bike Park is also on the verge of adding 20 new trail segments over the next three years. These trail segments would add over nine miles of trails and include excavated trails, jump trails, elevated trails and single track trails.
Trestle bike Park’s summer hours of operation are 10am through 5:30pm, seven days a week from June 21 through September 1, 2008 (Labor Day) and extended weekends September 6-21. The Zephyr Express bike transport chairlift opens at 10am and closes at 5pm. Trestle Bike Park passes are $34 for adults; Half Day passes are $24. Season passes are also available for $169 for unlimited use.
