Kid on the floor in that last shot. Smile
I grew up in the 70's, and jumping kids via a shitty ramp was the deal. The more kids, the cooler you were. Pro tips - always be the first kid, never be the last kid, and cover your junk, regardless of position. The more you know......

I feel as if Saturday sends is becoming more watered down once people realized they could do regular sized jumps to get in. and to think these are the best... It was better at the start.

Better An unworthy Sat Send or a worthy Friday Fail? I don't disagree, however

Usually I'm all, "Haters gonna hate.", when someone makes a negative comment on Saturday Sends, but in this case I kinda gotta agree. I feel like if my 40+ year old ass could get in there merely by clearing a middling gap it's not really a "send".

First one after the intro here is the "session jump" at a local bike park (I can't be the only SoCal rider that picked out SkyPark almost immediately.). I've hit that dozens of times, most times probably about as well as the one in this vid.
OTOH, I've seen frickin' 10 year olds hitting the same jump with way more style than I ever have. Full on 90º whips, no-handers, manual landings, etc. I've seen some pretty impressive stuff on that jump (Never seen anyone flip it, but I'm sure it's happened.). Merely clearing it, IMO, isn't worthy of a Saturday Send.

@SoCalTrev: while I agree some of the sends lack much wow factor, I’d still take this over a mashup of pro riders hitting stuff

 Counter point:

Sure it's fun seeing giant jumps we can never dream of hitting. However, it's important everyone gets represented and, what seems like a "regular" size jump to you is equally as stupid to a semi-pro or pro. Seeing pros jump 80 ft gaps, or 30 ft drops, isn't inspiring to me because there's no hope of getting that good at my current age.

Seeing a 40 year old or 10 year old go off a 6' drop should be inspiring to everyone. Everyone is at a different level so don't discount their achievements even if it's a warm up lap for you.

@Rokcore: I suppose it could be considered a "feature" of Saturday Sends that many of them are either already attainable, or at least realistically achievable goals for many of us mere mortal riders.

Nice to see some classic huck-to-flat action!
