Yea me too, there is literally nothing worse than preparing for them. My year 5 are quite low too, my lowers could quite easily be year 1, no idea what goes on at home. Fortunately, my commute isn't too bad, about 2mins, yours sounds like a trek! Is there nothing around Keswick? I had a look around Millom and got an interview but I'd already taken the one I'm at.

Nothing. And anything that is between here and Carlisle is temporary/maternity covers and so not worth giving up a permanent contract for. It seems people in the local nice schools get a job and stick with it until retirement whereas up round Carlisle there is quite a high turnover of staff - I wonder why haha!

Hey, how do you get to the Dodd Wood DH from the car park next to the cafe? Rode Skiddaw and came down Carlside recently and a couple of lads I ride with at Setters said some of the Brayton tracks are in Dodd..

That car park is a long way from it. You could eventually get there if you knew which sneaky fire road to take but you would have to scale a massive landslide to get there and it would be a huge walk, it would bring you to the start though. I push up from the bottom, 25 mins straight up, I'll give you better directions when I'm back on my bike and had a run down, it's in mint condition from that vid and I don't want Brayton blaming me for your skids Wink

Haha fair enough! Will probably see you up Setmurthy sometime anyway, we may be heading there Sunday.

I won't be up Sunday as only got off my crutches on Tues and still can't fully use my leg!! Planning to get back on the pony this weekend and then take it from there, hopefully a gentle play on the BMX will be within my capability soon Smile

Ah man, that sucks. Good luck healing! My only hindrance to Sunday if a massive pile of marking to get through Saturday night! Joys. Maybe see you up there soon.

Really?! I teach year 5 in a school in morecambe. I wanted to try and get a school in Cumbria but there were barely any jobs going. What about you?

Year 1, inner city Carlisle, they may as well be reception though, so poor. I commute from Keswick which costs a bomb, been their 3 years. It is so hard finding a post round here, and I hate teaching interviews, I'm lucky in that I'm in the school I did my final placement in.
