Oh innovation, just what the BMX industry needs. Haha all I need is a carbon frame and a set of 550A wheels and I will finally be able to land that 720!! Oh, my bike is only made of steel, I could never be a pro :/ but on a serious note, there is something wonderful about generic "crap" in that if I break a part, i dont have to sit for 2 weeks waiting for a part to come in. I can just go to the store, grab another and be back on my bike within an hour.
I think we have reached the same plateau as skaters here, and that's a good thing. Lets not be like the middle aged men in lycra (mamals) on their road bikes, trying to get lighter bits of bike, even though their bellies could do with burning the extra calories. BMX should be even more generic and utilitarian to me, then its just about what you do on it.
