You ought to make a page that reviews tires Wink

 Haha, that's a great idea.

Well, I was kinda serious. I know of nobody else that has as much experience with different tires, and isn't in the pocket of a sponsor.

Oh, I do have a tire thread. Sorry, I thought you were joking with me about that. It's the "official xc/am tire discussion" it has been pretty dormant lately, I'll try to get it going again soon.

Cheers, I had not noticed that thread. Much appreciated.

 DHR II innit?

Yeah, DHF and DHR2. Great excite for back up tires. Surprised about potato level of this pic.

have you tried the DHR2 as a front tire? works amazingly well
  • 1 0
Not yet. I'm trying to find something I can run on the rear to do that. I'd like to try it though. Wish they made a larger than 2.3x29.

 DHF front and rear!

If we had two DHFs in stock I would have. I also would like the wfo to be below 30, so we'll see.

Ooh, that's pretty ambitious. Any idea on the frame weight? Haven't even seen a claim yet.
  • 1 0
It's supposed to be 7.3 w/o seat collar or rear axle. Which wouldn't be too bad, the wheels aren't bad either, the rear wheel(no cassette) with the Vigi and sealant was 300g lighter than the DHR on the front w/o stans.

Oh shit, that's pretty impressive, especially since it's more of heavy hitter. I was expecting somewhere in the low 8's. It's going to be so sick though, dude. I can't wait to get the notification that you've posted it.

Yeah, haha they dropped almost 3/4 lb from the last years frame. That was one reason I like it, shorter stays, almost 1.2 inch shorter wheelbase than the ENduro 29, and the angles were perfect. I had a long time to think about it or a Prime, but ended up with an in for this frame.

The WFO is lighter, has more travel, and is shorter than the Prime. Think you made the right choice, partner.

I think if I lived in a place with smoother trails and not such tight techy stuff it would have been the prime. The guy here loves his, but he hasn't taken it on a few of the trails I frequent. It's still one of the best looking bikes, I've always likes your build. And especially now that it makes Motor Noises with them big ole tires. My frame may arrive today!
