I've ran 4 bolts with no problems at all. So have many other people. You'll be okay.

I swapped a rotor from one hub to another but had to drill out a bolt to remove the rotor from the original hub.

So you drilled it through the thread too?!
I have had this trouble before, normally disc sanded the head off the bolt and then that leaves and untorqued stub for you to try and get it out.

No, I only drilled the bolt. The threads were fine, but I didn't have an extra bolt so I only used 4.

must have slipped or loaded incorrectly when it was being machined. Im not sure, ive seen people run worse!

did you know it when you bought it? i would just run it to be fair, people get away with running less than 6 rotor bolts anyway.
maybe shoot hope and email and see if they will replace it

Because there's hardly any material left, so under high load it will crack at some point.
Well, it's you and not me that will be going to the ER, so yeah 3 bolts it is.
