its beautiful. it reminds me of obv samurai swords, but also this explosive metal forming project that visited my art school- years ago. this cat was combined a variety of alloys thru the use of semtex and moulds. it produced really cool shit, but was nearly impossible to get access to.

The explosive metal project sounds interesting. Reminds me of an episode of "Beyond 2000" that came on the discovery channel when I was a kid. If I remember correctly, they were fusing dissimilar metals together with shaped charges. Impossible to do any other way.

Yeah that's what this dude was doing, and he was also making like low relief sculptures with it

did you find the mill you used had a more difficult time removing material than the typical metals you use on it?

without a doubt. This material is meant to be ground not machined. Its really really hard; 55-60 Rockwell C. This took 3.5 hrs to machine. The exact same piece in Ti takes only about 45min and Ti is considered a "difficult to machine" material.

Holy shit. What kind of steel is this? Did you fold it?

Its carbon steel damascus. 1095 and 15N folded together many times. No, I didn't fold it. I just bought a piece of rectangular stock and machined it.
